Why go

For the Old Town without the bustle of Thalang Road: the same shophouses, some of the larger family houses, and fewer people.

What you will find

A longer street than Thalang Road, lined with shophouses and some of the bigger houses of the tin families. One of the first ornate shophouse rows was built here, according to The Phuket News.

Soi Romanee comes out on Dibuk Road, opposite Wat Mongkol Nimit. Limelight Avenue, where the small Indy Market is held on some weekday evenings, is in a lane off the street.

Getting there

On foot from Thalang Road through Soi Romanee. On a walk, follow it west, past the larger houses, towards Krabi Road.

Before you go

Like the rest of the Old Town, it is hot at midday, and many shops close in the hottest part of the afternoon and reopen around 4 pm.

The days of the Indy Market differ between sources, from Wednesday to Friday or Thursday and Friday only: check locally.
